Fourth of July and weepy girly probs

Yesterday was Independence Day!!!!
You know....the day we officially were free of England ;)

I had a little fun with Tom yesterday.
Just joking together that England had lost us and he'd say "No, we just let you go" ;)
Or when i'd say Happy Independence day he'd say "hmmmm is it??"
But in the end i think it grew on him.

I took him out to a big Fourth of July celebration in Hurst, TX.
There was a live band, food vendors and thousands of people camped out in
lawn chairs and on blankets...and Tom said stuff like... "This is SO American" ;)
Then the fireworks knocked his socks off...
which i think sold him on the idea of this wonderful day!!
He loved it.

we had a great Fourth of July.
We just have great days every day.

It's crazy to think that 8 months ago tomorrow
i was talking to this guy for the first time.
And now he's been here for two weeks and i want him here longer.

I may or may not have teared up a bit the other
night while we were talking.

We talked about how well this is all going
and how much we care about each other...
you know...mushy stuff..

My weepy girly emotions get the best of me sometimes.
You know when you come across something that's just so right for you
and then you have to think about letting it go for a while....it's hard!!
Tom is leaving next thursday and i won't see him again for about 6 months.
And i'm trying to soak him in while he's here but him leaving is in the back of my mind too...

I know it will be ok :)
We've already made plans to spend even MORE time together in the coming year.

So for now i'm going to appreciate this AMAZING man i have in front of me
and i'm going to take in every moment we have together.

Long distance is hard...even harder when it's actually the real deal
and not just Skype dates...

But we will be fine.
We'll be better than fine.
We'll be perfect!!

Hope your friday is going as good as mine.
My dad is taking us to the shooting range today...
this should be good!! ;)

  4. You'll make it through. I've been there and know exactly how you just want to take advantage of every moment before they leave. Long distance is extremely hard and you're so brave for talking openly about it.

Oh, and July 4th will grow on him for sure! This is my second one as a British lady living in the USA, and it's one of my favorite holidays already ;)
